Ah, this is lovely - thank you, Jessica. I've always wanted to live in the Honeychurch's house from 'A Room with a View': there's a particular part of the Surrey Hills, just south of Peaslake, where I'm convinced it should rightfully be. Completely agree on 'Much Ado...' and 'About Time'

Thank you so much for reading and for your lovely comment. That's made my day. A Room With a View was on the list, but it was getting so ridiculously long I removed it! I wanted to be Helena Bonham Carter so badly as a teenager and the soundtrack was on constant rotation.

Another wonderful article with plenty of great recommendations to seek out beyond those already viewed, thank you! Me? I would gladly move into and spend hours on end in Deckard's gloomy yet beautiful apartment in Blade Runner.. also his rather more spacious place from Blade Runner 2049 (holographic Elvis.. who's in?! Alternatively, joining the summer shift making hay in Malick's sublime Days of Heaven (perhaps departing before those pesky locusts turn up..). Finally for now, were De Niro's character to pop his bathed-in-blue ocean house from Heat on airbandb I'd certainly book it for a weekend without hesitation, regardless of asking price. An ideal place to zone out before heading to L.A. for some cops & robbers escapism!

Thank you so much! I absolutely love your suggestions and your descriptions too. I haven’t seen Days of Heaven for many years and am going to watch it tonight. Just listening to the Morricone theme now and oh it’s soooo beautiful and haunting, almost unbearably so. Thanks again :)

My pleasure Jessica! It had been a while myself until I finally upgraded to a 4k Blu-ray player recently (and then, in turn started re-buying my outright favourite "visual" movies - Days of Heaven being in the upper echelons of any such list.. so an immediate purchase).

From what I can gather it was no smooth journey regarding Morricone working with Malick (the latter in particular being notoriously "difficult" to work/collaborate with... apparently - perfectionism can come at a cost I guess ;-) ).

Enjoy revisiting the film.. a true masterpiece, in my opinion. Malick has had his moments since.. but never really topped it.

*providing all of the above were soundtracked by Vangelis, Zimmer, Morricone and Goldenthal respectively, of course.

Watched Interview With The Vampire again last night and it’s one of my favourite ever scores. Hugely influential for me. Not many places I want to ‘live in’ in that film, however!

*another one I need to revisit ASAP - thanks for the reminder (and yes, agreed re: not wishing to live in it!)
